Support in creating
fulfilling routines and a balanced lifestyle

This can be addressed in these ways:

- Individual OT sessions can be used to create individualized routines to meet your personal needs and help you create a graded approach to developing and sustaining lifestyle changes. The focus is on creating and maintaining  balance between time spent on work, leisure, self-care, chores and social interaction.

- COPE WITH PROPE support group provides opportunity for group members to exchange tips on how they have managed to sustain  habits and also provides information on the reasoning behind certain recommended habits.

- Participants in the T.R.E.® process have reported more capacity and self-awareness to motivate them to start and commit to healthy habits.

- The E.A.S.E group introduces fun and exploration opportunities to expand your variety of hobbies and meets a need for social interaction that is lacking in many of our lives.

Teaching of and support in implementing Dialectical Behavioural Therapy principles and skills

This can be addressed in these ways:

- Individual OT sessions can be used to learn DBT content and slot the daily practice thereof into your existing  daily schedule.

- Sensory Profile assessments can also assist with the most effective use of Core Mindfulness skills which form the foundation of  DBT theory.

- The COPE WITH PROPE support group covers, amongst others, the TIPP skills and the PLEASE skills that are integral skills in the Distress Tolerance and Emotion Regulation modules of DBT.

- The E.A.S.E group is a fun way to try out various pleasant activities that could form part of your distract coping strategies. Every activity will meet at least one of the criteria of the ACCEPTS skills of the DBT Distress Tolerance model, and IMPROVE activities will often be incorporated.

Optimal development of sensory-motor regulation abilities and self-soothing

This can be addressed in these ways:

- Individual OT sessions can be used to learn content pertaining to the Poly-vagal theory and slot the daily practice of self-soothing activities into your existing  daily schedule.

- Learning strategies can help you turn your sensory struggles into super-powers, regardless of the environments that you may work, live and travel in. Sensory assessments can assist in identifying sensory systems that are being under-utilized or needs desensitization.

- Participants in the T.R.E.® process have reported improved tolerance of previously disliked sensory input when they practice T.R.E.® on a regular basis.

- The COPE WITH PROPE support group offers ideas on how to use sensory and movement input appropriately to either energize or calm you as needed to maintain stable focus throughout the day.
